Edie Tolbert – Founder and CEO

Edie is the owner of Stonebrook Day Spa and the Founder of The Stonebrook Project. In January 2008, she was diagnosed with Stage 0 DCIS breast cancer. It was through her 2 year journey with cancer, that she found her new purpose; to serve and support others battling cancer. With the opening of Stonebrook Day Spa, she began to offer free spa services to breast cancer patients. As she met and talked with clients, she determined there were others battling other types of cancer. She began to serve those as well as caregivers.

Edie holds a AS in Business Administration and 20+ years experience in business. She specializes in meeting with cancer patients, putting them at ease and determining their “care plan” to help with their physical and emotional healing.

Edie is married to Ronnie of 38 years, two daughters Tiffany and Brittney, son-n-law Chris and granddaughter Ella.


Nancy Phelps – Executive Director

Nancy and Edie met through SafeNet Services approximately 8 years ago. Together they worked on a Women’s Conference that raised funds for the women at SafeNet Services.

Nancy has 21+ years of non-profit experience. She was one of the key people Edie felt led to meet with when she began considering the launch of a non-profit. Nancy has a extensive background in grant writing, fundraising and many contacts throughout the community, Nancy is excited to join a team with a purpose to serve others.

Nancy and her husband Ron, reside in Inola.

Catie Pritchard – President

Catie and her husband, George (aka Dub), have two children – Sally, 6 and George, 3. George is a cancer survivor, diagnosed with hepatoblastoma at 4 months and declared NED (no evidence of disease) at 10 months. He has been cancer free ever since! Catie and her family know first hand the physical and emotional stresses of battling cancer. She is passionate about helping others facing what her family faced and thrilled to be a part of The Stonebrook Project.

Catie and her family live in Catoosa, Oklahoma. She is a teacher at Lincoln Christian School.


Michelle Crawford – Secretary

Michelle has devoted 30 years of her life to the healthcare industry and recently stepped away from the corporate environment. During her tenure she received recognition for her charitable contributions with Domestic Violence Intervention Services, Multiple Sclerosis, Cancer Sucks, Henry Memorial Foundation, American Heart Association, KOMEN, American Cancer Society, Tulsa Area United Way and others. She served on the Board of Breast Cancer Assistance Program from 2011-2017.

Michelle attended Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, OK Graduating Magna Cum Laude while earning her masters degree. She’s spent her entire life in Oklahoma and for the last 18 years, Verdigris is her home, Michelle is married to Keith Crawford and they have three grown children.

Cancer has impacted her family tremendously, most recently losing her father to kidney cancer, her brother in law to multiple myeloma, her mother in law to breast cancer and two of her best friends to brain and pancreatic cancer. Her sister is a survivor and now battling again soft tissue sarcoma and has many friends that  are survivors as well.

When not working at her part-time gigs – Michelle is an avid “junker”, SOONER fan, music lover and loves to travel.






Sandy Shirley – Treasurer

Sandy is the Assistant Branch Manager at Bancfirst, Verdigris, OK. She has 25+ years in the banking industry.

Sandy is very active in her community through Standing in the GAP, a Merit Badge Counselor with the Boy Scouts of America and many outreach services with First United Methodist Church.

Cancer has impacted her life with her Father having bladder cancer, twice. He is now in remission and has been for 2 years.


Debbie Mewbourne –  Advisory Board Member

Debbie has an MS, Nursing – University of Oklahoma-Tulsa; BS, Nursing – University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond; Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner; Certified Breast Care Nurse; Adult Nurse Practitioner; Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner; Practicing since 1994.

An advanced registered nurse practitioner at CTCA at Southwestern Regional Medical Center, Debbie serves patients in the Medical Oncology Clinic and other areas of the hospital  meeting the need of her patients.

In 2005, she was honored with an award from the Oklahoma Society of Clinical Oncology for her efforts as a patient advocate.

“I have always tried to put myself in my patients’ shoes and treat them as I would want treatment for myself or a loved one.”

She has been married to her husband, Dave a local pastor,  for 37 years. In her free time, she loves to play with her three grandchildren.

Gail Bieber – Advisory Board Member

Gail is our former Board President. She has held an Oklahoma Clinical Social Worker license for the past 31 years. She has 25+ years of demonstrated experience in the field of social services/healthcare administration, behavioral health as well as community and home-based care.

Currently she has a private practice, Therapeutic Connections, specializing in stress reduction, disease management, trauma, body/mind interventions, depression anxiety, EMDR, relationship issues and other lifespan problems. In addition, she serves as an approved Clinical Supervisor for LMSW students working toward and OK clinical social work license.

Gail and her husband, Bill, reside in Catoosa, Oklahoma.


In loving memory of HolliAnn May

HolliAnn was our Co-Treasurer until her unexpected passing in January 2019. HolliAnn was dedicated to The Stonebrook Project. She was the Branch Manger at Bancfirst, Verdigris. Because of her vast experience in banking, she was very helpful when it came to funding The Stonebrook Project. She was committed to our mission of making a difference in those battling cancer. She will be missed!
